Man From Region Wanted For Failure To Pay Child Support, Charged With Food Stamp Fraud A man from the region wanted for failing to pay child support was also charged for allegedly collecting $1,000 in food stamps he wasn't entitled to. Sullivan County resident Keith Nash, age 31, of South Fallsburg was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 15 by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on a family court child support warrant. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, Nash owed $1,200 in support payments. He was also wanted on a felony warrant for grand larceny for allegedly collecting $1,152 in food stamps that he was not entitled to.  Nash was arraigned in the Town of L…

Rabid Cat: Residents In Region Being Treated After Being In Contact With Infected Animal An undisclosed number of people in the region are being treated for rabies after being in contact with a rabid cat. The Sullivan County Department of Public Health has confirmed that a stray cat euthanized in the South Fallsburg area tested positive for the rabies virus.  "Exposed persons are currently receiving appropriate treatment," the department said. The blaze broke out in Sullivan County around 5:45 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2 at the Boosur Meat & Deli located on Main Street in South Fallsburg. Fatal, Multiple-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Busy Area Roadway, Police Say A busy roadway in the area is closed in both directions due to a multiple-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 12:30 p.m., Friday, May 21 in Sullivan County on Route 42 in the area of South Fallsburg, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office said. Currently, Route 42 is closed in both directions between South Fallsburg and Fallsburg.  Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes, as the closure will be indefinite. ID Released For Woman Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash A woman killed in a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley has been identified.  It happened around 6:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21, in Sullivan County on Route 42 and Larsen Lane in South Fallsburg, said Fallsburg Police Det.
