Man Ejected From Car, Thrown Into Ravine After Crash On Highway In Hudson Valley First responders carried out a careful rescue operation after a man fell over 50 feet down a ravine following a crash on a highway in Northern Westchester.  The incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 29 at around 6:30 p.m., when a three-car crash occurred on Interstate 684 in Bedford at the overpass spanning Beaver Dam Park. As a result of the crash, one man was ejected from his vehicle and sent into a ravine underneath the overpass, according to the Katonah Fire Department. The incident happened on Friday, Oct. 27 around 2:15 p.m., when the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to an excavator rollover on Baptist Church Road.  According to Yorktown Police, a 59-year-old man who had been working with a local tree company had become trapped underneath an excavator he was standing next to. Former Fire Chief, Air Force Vet From Hudson Valley Dies A former fire chief and lifelong Northern Westchester resident who dedicated much of his life to firefighting has died.  Yorktown Heights resident Arthur Orneck, who served as the Chief of the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department between 1986 and 1987, died on Tuesday, April 4 at the age of 74, according to his obituary.   Born in White Plains in 1948, Orneck lived his entire life in Yorktown Heights and worked as a professional firefighter for the Greenville Fire District in Scarsdale for 20 years before retiring in 2000.  Additionally, he was also a 58-year…
