Barricaded Man Who Threatened Troopers Taken Into Custody In Dutchess State Police took a man into custody after he barricaded himself in Wappinger and then threatened officers with what looked like a rifle. The event took place around 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, in Wappinger, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Police responded to the home of Jerry Ford, 44, Wappinger after receiving a request for a welfare check, Hicks said. Ford apparently became "upset" while being interviewed and went inside his home and came back out with what looked like a rifle and pointed it at officers, he added.
