Inmate Admits Attacking Officer At Green Haven Correctional Facility
An inmate at an area correctional facility has pleaded guilty for assaulting an officer. Vernon Mingo, 39, admitted that he assaulted Correction Officer Jennifer Hayden at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville on April 24, 2018, Dutchess County District Attorney William Grady said He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 31, and is expected to receive a sentence of two to four years in state prison to run consecutively with his current sentence, the DA said. “Correctional officers have very difficult and dangerous jobs," said Grady.
