Duo Gunned Down 'Fun-Filled' 16-Year-Old After Breaking Into Area Home, Jury Finds
Two of three defendants have been convicted for their roles in the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy from the region.
A Rensselaer County jury found Ramel Gulley, age 29, of Schenectady, and William Webb, age 30, of Brooklyn, guilty of second-degree murder on Friday, March 22, in the killing of Christopher Anthony.
Prosecutors said Gulley, Webb, and a third defendant forced their way into Anthony’s Troy home, located near River Street and Glen Avenue, on Jan. 5, 2022.

Stabbed 65 Times: Man From Region Murdered 21-Year-Old In 'Fit Of Rage,' Jury Finds
A jury has found a 24-year-old man guilty of stabbing his friend to death during an altercation at a home in the region.
Jaquan Morrison, of Schenectady, was convicted of murder in Schenectady County Court on Friday, Dec. 8, in the killing of 21-year-old Dwayne Harris.
Prosecutors said Harris allowed Morrison to stay at a Schenectady home, located on Maple Avenue, that he shared with several roommates in April 2022.
However, on the morning of April 12, Morrison got into an altercation with one of the other roommates and everyone demanded that he leave the home.

Hudson Valley Man Charged With Killing Stepfather, Lighting Relative's Home On Fire: DA
A man from Northern Westchester is charged with fatally stabbing his stepfather before lighting a relative's home on fire.
On Wednesday, Sept. 14, around 12:30 a.m., 30-year-old Shane Gilleo of Peekskill is accused of stabbing 48-year-old Edward Reeves numerous times with a knife at a residence in Peekskill on North James Street, according to a release by Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah on Thursday, Nov. 10.
Reeves was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where he later died, Rocah said.

Man Admits To Murder Of 21-Year-Old Woman In Area
A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to murder and other charges in connection with the shooting death of a young woman.
Orange County resident, Carlos Rivera, age 49, of Newburgh, made the plea on Monday, May 2 for the murder which took place in New Windsor in December 2019.
During the incident, Chelsea Debidi, age 21, of Walden, was killed at the Knox Village Apartments in New Windsor at the home of her 20-year-old boyfriend’s family, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
The boyfriend was also shot and seriously injured, the DA's office said.
