Newburgh Police Department Mourns Loss Of Sgt. Paul Horaz The City of Newburgh Police Department is mourning the loss of one its own following the death of Sgt. Paul Horaz. The department announced the 30-year veteran's passing on Facebook Friday. Horaz began working for the department in parking enforcement in 1988 and became a police officer in 1990.  "Sgt Horaz was a dedicated professional spending more than half of his life to serving the residents of the City of Newburgh," the department said.  Arrangements have not been made.
