Beginning on Thursday, July 29, construction will begin on a $450 million project to develop 27 service areas on the Thruway, officials announced this week. Town Of Poughkeepsie Man Killed After Being Hit By Truck, Car ID'd The Town of Poughkeepsie man who was killed after being struck by an empty dump truck and then a car on Lime Kiln Road late Thursday night has been identified. A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim, 44-year-old Rudolph Thompson of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was struck while in the southbound lane of Lime Kiln Road by a 2012 Peterbilt tractor hauling an empty dump trailer. The truck, which was traveling south, stopped immediately after the collision. After being hit by the tractor, Thompson was then struck a few moments later by a 2008 Ford Focus.
