The collision took place in Dutchess County on Route 9G at the intersection of North Cross Road in the town of Hyde Park around 10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 18.  According to the Roosevelt Fire District Chief Jeffrey Scala, firefighters and EMS responded to the crash with reports of ejections and people trapped in vehicles. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, April 7, with reports of a fatal crash on Route 9G in Germantown, according to State Police. An investigation found that Raphael McDonald, of Athens in Greene County, was speeding in the northbound lane when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle slid off the road and crashed into a utility pole. McDonald was ejected from the car and died at the scene, police said.
