State Police Looking For Leads In Dutchess Murder Cold Case New York State Police are still looking for leads in the 1987 murder of an area man. The murder of Clinton Elting, 18, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was discovered on July 22, 1987, when state police found his remains on the roadside brush off Cardinal Road in Hyde Park, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Police believe the murder took place on July 18, 1987, the same night Rodney Pittmen “Dula,” was shot and wounded in the town of Poughkeepsie.
