Hudson Valley Factory To Build MTA Subway Cars A whole host of new jobs are heading to the Hudson Valley, as the MTA announced a $1.4 billion contract that will be awarded to Kawasaki to build state-of-the-art subway cars in Westchester. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board announced this week that they voted to approve the purchase of 535 next generation subway cars, which will be used on lettered routes and the Staten Island Railway.
