Alert Issued For Poughkeepsie Sewage Discharge Hundreds of gallons of untreated waste was discharged near the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, authorities announced Monday. The Poughkeepsie Water Pollution Control Plant issued an alert noting that 321,000 gallons of untreated waste had been spilled into the Hudson River near Rinaldi Boulevard. The WPCP cited heavy rain, thunderstorms and a one-inch accumulation of rain for the discharge. The discharge was reported at 9 a.m. and was intermittent for a three-hour period.
