Man Holds Police At Bay In Pleasant Valley For 5 Hours
An attempt to serve an arrest warrant in the region led to a five-hour standoff with law enforcement. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at around 11 a.m. on Monday, July 1, on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, and detectives responded to a residence on Route 44 in the Town of Pleasant Valley to serve an arrest warrant. Lightning Strike Causes Tree To Fall On Car In Hudson Valley
One person was taken to a hospital after lightning struck a tree, causing it to fall on a car in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, June 23 around 7:20 p.m., when a tree fell on a vehicle on Route 6N in Mahopac between Secor Road and Parker Drive, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Man Hit, Killed Walking In Hudson Valley Auto Dealership Parking Lot
A 41-year-old man was hit and killed while walking in an auto dealership parking lot by another man attempting to park. The incident occurred in Orange County on Monday, May 20, at Hudson Valley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Route 17K in the town of Newburgh. According to Newburgh Police, A 2024 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 68-year-old man was entering a parking space at the dealership when the vehicle suddenly accelerated, striking the pedestrian walking directly in front of the Jeep. A person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train overnight in the region. Woman's Body Found In Wooded Area In Hudson Valley
Police are investigating after the body of a Black woman was found in a wooded area in the Hudson Valley. The woman's body was found in Rockland County on Wednesday, April 3, in the area of the baseball field on Dutch Lane in the village of Spring Valley. Spring Valley Police said the woman is about 60 years years old but did not provide details on how the woman, who has not yet been identified, died or where. This story has been updated. A person was injured and flown to an area hospital after being pinned between two vehicles at a Hudson Valley car wash. The incident took place in Orange County around 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, in the village of Chester at the Hambletonian Auto Spa at 1 Bryle Place. The incident took place around 3:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, in Dutchess County approximately half a mile south of the Pawling station, said MTA officials. A Silver Alert has been issued following the disappearance of Todd Davies. Davies was last seen on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Wilton Center. Davis Alejandro Tapia, a native of Sleepy Hollow and resident of Ossining, died on Saturday, Nov. 17. He was 17. He was born in Sleepy Hollow on June 26, 2001 and is the son of Segundo and Elvia Tapia. Davis was a senior at Ossining High School and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church, in Ossining.
