Accidental Death Reported At Old Route 6 Residence A welfare check at a residence in the area resulted in the discovery of the body of a 55-year-old man. Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports that on Wednesday, March 20,  at about 10:35 a.m., members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at the home on Old Route 6 in the Town of Southeast.  Family members of Matthew Meyer, a resident at the location, were unable to contact him and subsequently called for assistance. Male, Female Teens Nabbed For Selling Prescription Drugs In Putnam Two teens were nabbed by Putnam County Sheriff's deputies for dealing prescription drugs and LSD throughout the county, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. A Southeast man and a Village of Brewster woman were arrested on felony narcotics sales and possession charges after selling drugs to an undercover deputy with the department's Narcotics Enforcement Unit, officials said. In September 2017, a deputy assigned to the drug unit developed information that an 18-year-old male, and female, were involved in the sale of prescription medications within the county.
