Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Multi-Vehicle Poughkeepsie Crash A pedestrian has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash at a busy intersection in the City of Poughkeepsie. The crash occurred on the westbound arterial at North Hamilton Street at approximately 1:10 pm Monday, June 24, Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said. The crash also involved a bicyclist, Watterson said. The arterial was closed for approximately five hours due to the investigation and has been reopened. Heroin, Cocaine Seized After Man, Woman Take Police On High-Speed Chase Through Three Counties A high-speed police chase through Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties ended with the arrests of a man and woman who were caught with a large amount of heroin as well as cocaine. The chase began after state police initiated a traffic stop at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18 as the suspects’ vehicle, a 2004 Acura TL, was traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in Mount Pleasant.
