Accidental Death Reported At Old Route 6 Residence A welfare check at a residence in the area resulted in the discovery of the body of a 55-year-old man. Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports that on Wednesday, March 20,  at about 10:35 a.m., members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at the home on Old Route 6 in the Town of Southeast.  Family members of Matthew Meyer, a resident at the location, were unable to contact him and subsequently called for assistance.
