New Update: Four-Alarm Fire Destroys Dutchess Building Ten families and four businesses lost everything they owned during a four-alarm fire that swept through a three-story building that included both businesses and apartments. The fire started around 1:09 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Dutchess County at 10 Market Street, said Village of Wappingers Falls Police Lt. P. Capparelli.  The first officers on the scene, Sgt. Ludwig and Officer Farrell found an active fire at the scene when the responded to call reporting smoke, Capparelli said. Four-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Dutchess Building With Business, Apartments Several roads are closed as firefighters battle a four-alarm blaze in a three-story building with businesses and apartments in the area. The fire began around 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24 in Dutchess County at 10 Market St., in Wappingers Falls, officials said. The building includes 10 apartments and at least three businesses, including Mario's Sandwich Company and TJ's Barbershop, among others.
