Man Accused Of Setting Fiancé's House On Fire In Area A man from the region has been charged with allegedly intentionally setting his fiancé's home on fire. The fire took place in Ulster County around 1:45 a.m., on Saturday, June 22 in Saugerties. When Saugerties police officers and firefighters from the Saxton Fire District arrived on the scene they found a single-family home engulfed by fire, said Chief Joseph Sinagra of the Saugerties Police. One Killed In Crash Involving School Bus In Area One person was killed during a two-vehicle crash between a school bus and a dump truck in the Hudson Valley. It happened around 8:50 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 14 in Ulster County, on Route 9W in the town of Saugerties. The driver of the dump truck suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. Woman With History Of Crack Possession Rolls Over Vehicle On Drugs, Police Say An area woman who managed to extricate herself from her rolled-over car after an accident was charged by police for driving under the influence of drugs.  According to Saugerties Police, a 911 caller reported that a vehicle had rolled over, trapping its driver inside, on Lauren Tice Road at approximately 12:27 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10. When police arrived at the scene, a vehicle was reportedly laying on its roof in the middle of the road and operator Julie Kogut, 41, was unharmed and outside the vehicle.
