Shooting Victim Takes Self To Hospital After Early-Morning Robbery In Region Police in the region are asking for help following an early-morning shooting that sent a man to the hospital. The Albany County incident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, April 13, in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood. Police said a 41-year-old man walked into the emergency room at Albany Medical Center Hospital with a gunshot wound to the knee. The wound was not considered life-threatening. 15-Year-Old Busted With Gun, Cocaine In Region, Police Say A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after he was allegedly caught with a loaded gun and cocaine in the region.  Albany Police were called at around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, for a person with a weapon near Central and Lexington avenues. When officers arrived, they confronted a teen matching the suspect’s description, but he took off running. He made it roughly three blocks away before he was arrested near Orange Street and Route 9. Cats Left In Frigid Car For Days In Region By Teen, Police Say An 18-year-old woman from the region is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly leaving two cats locked in a car for days during frigid overnight temperatures, authorities said. Yemeena Anderson, of Albany, was arrested following an investigation by the Albany Police Special Operations Unit. Investigators said it was around 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, when Anderson left a six-month old male kitten and a one-year-old female cat locked inside her car on Lexington Avenue and Terminal Street. Police were called at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 in Albany with reports of a domestic assault involving a gun at a home on Second Avenue. Firefighters in Albany found the 43-year-old victim at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, lying unresponsive on a sidewalk on Lexington Avenue near Orange Street. 18 Arrested In Drug Trafficking Bust In Region A nearly month-long investigation into drug trafficking along Albany’s Central Avenue corridor has resulted in 18 arrests.
