Pine Plains Native ID'd As One Of Four Americans Killed In Syria Bombing This story has been updated. A Hudson Valley woman has been identified as one of the four Americans killed in a suicide bombing in Syria on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Navy Chief Cryptologic Technician Shannon M. Kent, 35, who grew up in Pine Plains in Dutchess County, was a sailor assigned to Cryptologic Warfare Activity 66, based at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.  Other victims identified were Department of Defense civilian Scott A. Wirtz of St. Louis, Missouri and Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan R.
