ID Released For 14-Year-Old Area Drowning Victim
The 14-year-old boy who drowned in Tonetta Lake in Southeast on Monday night has been identified. Oscar Gonzalez, who would have been a sophomore at Brewster High School when school begins Wednesday, was reported missing in a 911 call around 9 p.m. when he was swimming with a group of friends off of a floating dock on Shore Drive in Southeast. When Putnam County Sheriff's deputies arrived they observed a group of individuals at the end of the dock and an adult male in the water. 17-Year-Old Killed In Hudson Valley Crash Was Star Athlete
The 17-year-old entering his senior year in high school was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Monday was a star athlete. John Guerra, of the Florida section of Warwick in Orange County, was killed around 10:35 p.m. when his 2005 Honda Civic, traveling south on Union Corners Road, left the roadway and rolled, coming to a stop against a tree, said Town of Warwick Lt. Support Pours In For Family Of Hudson Valley Girl Killed In Storm
Support and words of comfort are pouring in for the family of the 11-year-old Newburgh girl killed during Tuesday's storm when a tree fell on the SUV in which she was a passenger. The girl’s mother had just parked at their Newburgh home when violent wind gusts toppled a tree and trapped the girl inside, police said. A GoFundMe page, set up by friends, has raised about $16,000 in just one day, with a goal of $8,000.
