Despite seeing nearly 2,000 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Hudson Valley, the overall positive infection rate in the region continues trending in the right direction after spiking earlier this month following the holiday season.
In the Hudson Valley, the positive infection rate dipped from 7.13 percent on Monday, Jan. 18 to 7.0 percent the following day, down to 6.98 percent on Wednesday, Jan. 20, while the statewide average is at 6.23 percent, down from 6.34 percent during that time span.

Covid-19: Here's Brand-New Breakdown Of Dutchess County Cases By Community
There are now more than 1,500 active COVID-19 cases being monitored in Dutchess County as the Hudson Valley contends with the second wave of the virus.
There were nine new virus-related deaths reported in Dutchess in the past week, as the total rose to 215, while the number of active cases rose from 1,330 to 1,511 as of Monday, Dec. 21, according to the county Department of Health.
Late last month, the county was only monitoring approximately 200 active cases.

The Hudson Valley saw another new increase in both COVID-19 cases plus the positive rate for testing, according to data released on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The positive testing rates for the last three days in the Hudson Valley is as follows:

Thursday, Nov. 12: 3.5 percent
Friday, Nov. 13: 3.9 percent

Covid-19: Dutchess County Election Day Poll Worker Tests Positive
An Election Day poll worker in Dutchess County tested positive for COVID-19, officials announced Thursday evening, Nov. 5.
The person worked at the East Fishkill Community Center at 890 Route 82 in Hopewell Junction on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health Commissioner Dr. Anil Vaidian said.
The individual had been following all precautionary steps – mask wearing, hand sanitizing, physical distancing and was not experiencing any symptoms, Vaidian said, noting that therefore, the risk to voters is minimal.

The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in both cases and the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Friday, Oct. 16.
In "Red Zone" focus areas included as part of the state's Cluster Action Initiative, the positivity rate for test results reported on Thursday, Oct. 15 is 4.84 percent - unchanged from the day before - with 200 positive cases out of 4,133 tests.
In the remainder of the state, not counting these "Red Zone" focus areas, 131,906 test results were reported, yielding 1,507 positives or a 1.14 percent positivity rate.

The Hudson Valley has seen a new increase in both new COVID-19 cases as well as the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Of a total of 70,930 test results reported on Tuesday, Sept. 22 to New York State, 665, or 0.94 percent, were positive.
Here are positivity testing rates for the last four days in the Hudson Valley:
