Danielle Barry, Accomplished Musician From Hudson Valley, Dies At 24 A Northern Westchester County woman, known as an accomplished musician with a love of helping others, has died at the age of 24. According to her obituary, Danielle Barry, of Chappaqua, died on Sunday, Oct. 31, from ovarian cancer. Barry was a co-captain of the junior varsity softball team during her time as a student at Horace Greeley High School, her obituary reads. She also graduated from Binghamton University in 2019, earning a bachelor of science degree in integrative neuroscience. Area Man Charged With DWI Following Head-On Crash A 54-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a head-on collision that closed the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 when a GMC Envoy traveling southbound on the Saw Mill in the vicinity of Route 120 in New Castle struck a guard rail, went airborne and entered the northbound lanes of travel, Westchester County Police said. Explosion At House Causes Road Closure In Area This story has been updated. An explosion that has caused extensive damage to a home in Northern Westchester led to the hourslong closure of a stretch of Route 100 (Saw Mill River Road). The closure, following the incident that happened around 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, was between the north end of Hidden Hollow Lane to the south end of Hidden Hollow Lane. The roadway reopened just before 8 p.m. The explosion, which occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Route 100, was reportedly in the garage.
