Fatal House Fire Breaks Out In Hudson Valley
An investigation is underway after one person was killed in a house fire in the Hudson Valley. The blaze in Rockland County broke out at around 4:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30 at 49 Laurel Rd. in Central Nyack. As responders arrived, they observed a single-family home with fire engulfing the first floor. The Central Nyack Fire Department was on the scene along with several other volunteer fire companies from throughout the county. Erratic Driving: Man Charged After Woman Killed In Crash On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway
A woman died after her car was hit by a vehicle operated by a man allegedly driving erratically in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Rockland County in Central Nyack around 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 on Route 59 in the area of Broome Boulevard. According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, the first arriving officer found two heavily damaged vehicles, a gray Audi A6 and a black Ford Edge. Know Him? Man Wanted In Connection With Shooting In Hudson Valley, Police Say
Police are asking the public for help identifying a man wanted for attempted murder during a shooting incident in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 26, when members of the Clarkstown Police responded to a report of shots fired in Central Nyack, said Detective Norman Peters of the Clarkstown Police. This story has been updated. A woman who jumped from the upper deck of the mid-span of the Tappan Zee Bridge has been transported to a hospital. The woman jumped from the bridge around 9 a.m, Monday, Dec. 7, near Tarrytown, said the New York State Police. Law enforcement agencies in New York are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to locate a potentially vulnerable woman who has been missing from the Hudson Valley for nearly a decade. 31-Year-Old Man Charged In Rape Of 11-Year-Old Girl
A 31-year-old area man has been charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl more than two times. Hector A. Chacon-Diaz of Central Nyack was arrested Thursday by the Clarkstown Police Department for the rape of the young girl who is a relative, said Det. Peter Walker, spokesman for the police department. The alleged incidents took place between 2015 and 2018, Walker said. Chacon-Diaz was charged with felony predatory sexual assault against a child and felony course of sexual conduct against a child, he added.
