Severe Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands, Central Hudson Says Thousands have lost power in the area as severe storms have swept through, bringing extreme thunderstorms and rain to the area. Central Hudson customers were reporting 77 outages as of 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, impacting 5,080 customers in the region - including 338 in Dutchess County and 103 in Orange County. 4,638 Central Hudson customers in Ulster are also being impacted by the storm. Alert Issued For Central Hudson Bill Payment Scam With temperatures continuing to rise and more and more air conditioners getting turned up, a new scam involving utility companies is making the rounds in the area.
