Briarcliff SPCA Seeks Donations For Dog, Kitten In Need Of Surgery BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – The SPCA of Westchester County in Briarcliff is seeking donations to help two animals recently surrendered to the shelter who are in need of surgery. Chloe was one of many dogs who spent their lives cramped in a tiny crate, breeding litter after litter, in a practice known as "backyard breeding," where dogs like Chloe are being used to produce puppies for profit by their owners. Westport Train Station Construction Begins Monday WESTPORT, Conn. – Construction will begin at the Lot 1 Saugatuck Railroad Station in Westport on Monday. Alternate parking locations have been created to alleviate the loss of parking spaces while the construction is being completed. Commuters are reminded to allocate 5-10 additional minutes to their morning commute on Monday to become accustomed to the new parking areas. Lot 1 will be closed on Saturday. Online Fundraiser Helping Severely Injured Pawling Man PAWLING, N.Y. – A GoFundMe account has been set up for a Pawling man who was severely injured in a car accident on Friday, June 10. Family and friends are raising funds for Richie Rubino, who suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident, spent two weeks in the ICU at Westchester Medical Center and underwent spinal cord surgery. After the five-hour surgery, Rubino was told he was paralyzed from the chest down. Metro-North Unveils New Mobile App For E-Ticket Purchases Metro-North has launched an accelerated roll out of MTA eTix, a free MTA app that will allow Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad customers to purchase train tickets anytime, anywhere with their mobile devices.
