Wallkill Police Charge Four In Underage Drinking Initiative

WALLKILL, N.Y. -- Four store clerks were arrested recently after illegally selling alcohol to a minor attempting to make the purchases as part of a police sting, authorities said.

The Wallkill Police Department targeted several businesses during the operation between 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, according to the department.

Working with the New York state Liquor Authority, officers arrested the four clerks, charging each with unlawfully dealing with a child.

Those charged include:

  • Terry Hernandez-Baez, 19, of Middletown, at the El Bandito restaurant, 536 East Main St.
  • Gilbert Hallidy, 53, of Middletown, at the Mr. Sushi restaurant, 400 Route 211 East
  • Singh Manpreed, 22, of Middletown, at the Mobil on the Run gas station, 530 Route 211 East
  • Valerie Santiago, 19, of Middletown, at Cumberland Farms, 356 East Main St.

The accused were ticketed and ordered to appear in the Town of Wallkill Court at 9 a.m. on Dec. 2.
