Police: Rhinebeck Man Punched, Threatened Victim With Knife Christmas Day

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- A Rhinebeck man was arrested on Christmas for allegedly attacking another man Christmas Day, New York State Police said.

Antonio Houjaca, 36, of Rhineback was arrested by New York State Troopers for assault on Christmas Day after attacking another person.

Antonio Houjaca, 36, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree menacing after troopers responded to a disturbance that occurred at a home in the Village of Rhinebeck around 1:26 a.m. Dec. 25.

Troopers said they interviewed the victim who reported that Houjaca had punched him in the face causing a laceration above his eye and then threatened him with a knife before leaving the home.

Houjaca was arraigned before the Village of Red Hook Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond. He is due to appear before the Village of Rhinebeck Court on Jan. 7.
