MILAN, N.Y. – A Milan man was arrested Friday for allegedly choking a woman and rear-ending her vehicle during a domestic dispute that occurred Sunday, Nov. 1, according to New York State Police.
Donald Thorpe, 45, was charged with assault in the second degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, criminal obstruction of breathing and reckless endangerment in the second degree, according to the report.
An investigation into the domestic dispute revealed the victim suffered a head injury and was choked. Thorpe also allegedly physically restrained the victim, preventing her from leaving the residence for a safe location. When the victim was able to leave the residence, he followed her and intentionally rear-ended her vehicle with the vehicle he was operating, officials say.
Thorpe was arraigned before the Town of Milan Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is due to reappear in Milan Court at a later date, report police.
