Dutchess Man Busted For DWI Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say

A man from Wappingers Falls has been charged with DWI after police say he was driving with a blood-alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit.

New York State Police say they stopped a motorist on I-787 in the city of Albany for a violation on Sunday, Aug. 11 around 11:15 p.m.

The driver, identified as Chandler Meekins, 56, of Wappingers Falls, was found to be intoxicated, police say.

Meekins was arrested, transported and processed at SP Albany, where police say his BAC was tested at .18.

Meekins was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and a vehicle and traffic violation. He was turned over to a sober third party and is scheduled to return to the City of Albany Court on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
