DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - In an effort to improve the safety of motorists and pedestrians alike, the Hyde Park Police Department have begun special traffic details at “problem” areas in town.
Police officials announced that after conferring with residents and compiling a list of problem areas, beginning on Friday, extra patrols would be posted in those areas during certain time frames.
“If you’re driving responsibly and you see us, give us a wave,” the department posted on Facebook announcing the program. “If you’re not driving responsibly, you’ll be having a more face-to-face conversation with us.”
