Margaret Agnes Duke, 99, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – Margaret Agnes Duke, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died Monday, April 11. She was 99.

Born Feb.25, 1917, in Nashua, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Mary Keating Gallant. She was a dance and ballet teacher for over 30 years in her home studio.

She is survived by her sons and their families James K. Duke; three grandchildren, Lisa (Don), Kevin (Katie), and Todd (Jennifer); 10 great-grandchildren in California; and Robert L. Duke and his wife, Lynne; and four grandchildren, Steven (Caroline), Kimberly (Keith), Patrick (Catherine) in New York, and Brian (Jennifer) in Massachusetts; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Forrest R. Duke; and her sister, Madeline Aharndt.

There are no calling hours. As per her wishes, cremation and burial of her ashes will take place at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park.
