RHINEBECK, N.Y. —Josephine M. Orlando, of Rhinebeck, passed away peacefully May 31, 2016, at Northern Dutchess Hospital at the age of 91.
Born April 16, 1925, in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Campanella) Orlando, and the younger sister of the late John R. Orlando.
She grew up and attended school in the Bronx. She eventually moved to Tudor City in Manhattan, where she worked for many years as a private secretary at the executive level for Mobil Oil Corp. before retiring in the early 1980s.
In 1984, she married Stanley Katz, who predeceased her in 2014.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Orlando of Mount Laurel, N.J.; niece, Donna Orlando Curtin (Thomas) of Clifton, Va.; nephew, John Orlando (Teresa) of Largo, Fla,; nephew Richard Orlando (Leslie) of Mount Laurel, N.J.; stepchildren April and Howard Katz; and several grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
She was laid to rest next to her parents at Ferncliff Cemetery and Mausoleum in Hartsdale, N.Y. Arrangements were under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck
