MILAN, N.Y. – Arlene E. Kaplan, a resident of Milan, died Friday, Jan. 8. She was 81.
She graduated from Erasmus High School and became a Fit and Runway Model for 7th Avenue Designers in NYC. After her modeling career, she was an administrative assistant for the College of Mt. Saint Vincent where she also taught swimming. In later years, Kaplan assisted the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Appalachian Mountain Club as a canoe and hiking trip leader.
She is survived by her husband David; her daughters Deborah Kaplan of Lexington; and Suzanne and her husband Charles Osler of Vermont.
Memorial contributions in her honor can be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Adirondack Mountain Club, 301 Hamilton St, Albany, NY or to the Appalachian Mountain Club, NY- NJ Chapter.
