DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A registered sex offender convicted of having sexual contact with a child has changed addresses in Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Dutchess County residents regarding the residency of 59-year-old Brennan Thek, who has moved from New Windsor to an apartment on Royal Crest Road in Hyde Park.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Thek as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Thek was arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police for having unlawful contact with a minor in 2008. He was convicted a year later and sentenced to three years probation and two years in state prison. Thek is now under the jurisdiction of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

Further info on Thek from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services can be accessed after entering the code in the CAPTCHA box found by clicking here.
