The shows will be at 2 and 4 p.m. on each of those days -- and will include pumpkin drops from the airplanes during the "bombing raid," to get visitors in the mood of the fall season.

This weekend is also the Aerodrome's Fall Festival. Kids are invited to enjoy face-painting, coloring airplane-related drawings and pumpkin painting. Candy and treats will be offered for the kids.

Both kids and adults are encouraged to dress in their best vintage aviation costumes, or whatever helps to get into Halloween mode.

This event is office manager Carol Harklerode's favorite weekend, because it focuses on her favorite guests, children, "to get the kids involved and entertain them, because it's fall, and it's fun.

"I love Halloween, it is my favorite, and I love kids, so incorporating the two into the Aerodrome is the coolest thing for me," she said.

Although the shows will finish up on Sunday, the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome's museum and grounds will remain open daily through Oct. 23, and biplane rides will remain available, allowing more opportunity for those interested in seeing the beautiful Hudson Valley fall foliage from the air through the rest of the month.

Call the Aerodrome office to arrange for a flight. Shows and biplane rides are weather permitting.

The Aerodrome's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The museum features more than 60 antique airplanes, over 40 vintage automobiles and related artifacts to view and learn about, all dating from 1900 through 1940. The Pioneer, World War I and Barnstorming periods of aviation history are all well represented, and staff and volunteers are always available to talk about the collection and the shows.
