The brew house will donate $1 for every pint sold for the entire month of April to the center. Stop by to taste the brew, meet the Brewmasters, and enjoy chef paired hors d’oeuvres at the Launch Party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mill House Brewing, 289 Mill St.
“Mr. Anderson Ale” is the brainchild of Mill House Brewing’s co-owners and Brewmasters Jamie Bishop and Larry Stock, and RonDeena Ross, advancement officer at Anderson Center for Autism.
“RonDeena gave us the challenge to create a special ale that would honor Anderson founder, Victor V. Anderson and his Scottish heritage,” said Bishop.
Anderson founded Anderson School in 1924. He believed that children with special needs would benefit from an integrated program that comprehensively addressed their education, emotional, and social needs. More than 90 years later, Anderson Center for Autism continues Anderson’s work, currently serving more than 200 children and adults with a primary diagnosis of autism.
The special brew is a rich custom ale made in the Scottish style – deep copper colored with a smooth mouth feel and a malty, slightly smoky flavor. Stock describes Scottish style ale as “part of an ancient tradition. Scotland has a very long brewing history going back thousands of years.”
The brew house is dedicated to bringing local craft beers to Poughkeepsie and the world. The popular watering hole and restaurant operates a 7-barrel single infusion system, and produces 25 uniquely different beers, now 26 with the addition of “Mr. Anderson” Ale.
