Woman Falls 50 Feet To Her Death While Doing Yardwork In Hudson Valley, Police Say An 83-year-old woman from the region was killed after falling 50 feet fell down an embankment while doing yardwork. The accident took place in Ulster County in the Town of Esopus around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31. The woman was found when deputies responded to a home on New Salem Road for the report of an elderly woman who had fallen down an embankment, said Lt. Ulster County resident Shonta M. Drake, of Highland, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 11, after an Ulster County Sheriff's deputy, watched as she backed up in the northbound lane of Route 9W in the Town of Esopus, said Lt. Man Charged With Raping Teen Girl, Sheriff's Office Says A report of a 16-year-old having sex with a 24-year-old led to rape charges for an area man. Jose D. Vasquez, 23 of Hurley was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 21 and charged with felony rape after the Ulster County Sheriff's Office investigated a complaint of the sexual contact, the department said.  According to police, on Nov. 16, deputies received a complaint in regard to a sex offense that occurred in the Town of Esopus.
