Devastating Fire: 3 Businesses, Including Beloved Pizzeria, Destroyed At Rockland Plaza Three businesses, including a beloved pizzeria, were destroyed at a Hudson Valley plaza by a fire that was discovered by police during an early morning patrol. The fire took place in Rockland County around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 8 at the Hillcrest Plaza at 312 Route 45 in Hillcrest. A Ramapo officer on patrol discovered the fire and notified the Hillcrest Fire Department and began evacuating people at an open business in the mall, the department said. Police Cruiser Involved In Crash With Motorcycle In Rockland A police department vehicle was involved in a crash with a motorcycle in Rockland County. The crash occurred 9:30 p.m. on Route 45 in Hillcrest, just north of Williams Avenue in Hillcrest, the Ramapo Police Department said. The motorcyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition.  The police officer was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. He was treated and released, the department said. The Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit is investigating.  No further information was available from police.
