Rockland Mourns Death Of County Clerk Paul Piperato Of Haverstraw Shock and sadness have been expressed across the region as news spread of the sudden death of an area county clerk. Paul Piperato, 61, Rockland County's Clerk, was known for his love of the county and his support of local organizations, died Wednesday morning, May 5, at home. A cause of death has not been announced.  "Today Rockland County mourns," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. Rockland County Welcomes 127 New Citizens It was an exciting day for 127 people as they were sworn in as "official" United States citizens during a ceremony at the Fire Training Center in Pomona. The group took the Oath of Office on Friday as it was administered by Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato during a naturalization ceremony. "Congratulations my fellow Americans and welcome to our great country," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. "We thank you and our servicemen and women- without them we would not have the freedom we have today."

Rockland Welcomes 155 New Americans During Naturalization Ceremony Rockland welcomed 155 new Americans on Friday, Feb. 2, during a touching Naturalization Ceremony at the Fire Training Center. Rockland County Executive Ed Day spoke during the ceremony about the importance of getting involved in the local community.
