Hudson Valley Fire Leaves 24 Homeless, Injures 2 At least two residential buildings were destroyed during a two-alarm fire in the Hudson Valley that left 24 people homeless. The incident occurred in Orange County at 11:20 p.m. on Monday, April 8, at 59 and 61 Carter St., in the city of Newburgh. According to Mike Neppl, a spokesman for the Newburgh Fire Department, arriving units found the rear of 59 and 61 Carter Street fully involved with fire, which was spreading to the interior of the buildings.  Neppl said crews stretched handlines into the interior and began bringing the fire down and searching for hidden fire. The fire took place in Orange County around 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8 on Babes Lanes in the town of Newburgh. Police and firefighters responded to a home on Babes Lane after receiving 911 calls reporting smoke and fire, said Lt. Peter Talarico, of the town of Newburgh Police. Body Of Man Pulled From Lake In Harriman State Park The body of a possible drowning victim was pulled by dive teams from a lake in Harriman State Park near the border of Rockland and Orange counties on Monday morning. Lake Skannatati in Tuxedo was closed during the search. The man went underwater early Sunday afternoon. Thiells Fire Department divers were called to the scene after the Tuxedo Town Fire Department, Monroe Fire Department, Cronomer Valley Fire Department and  Stony Point Fire Department all responded. The accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. on Route 32 (North Plank Road) near the intersection of Paffendorf Drive in the Cronomer Valley section of the town, said Lt.
