Catalytic Converter Thief At Hudson Valley Train Station Nabbed In Court, Police Say A Hudson Valley man who was wanted for allegedly stealing catalytic converters last month has been arrested while appearing in court for traffic violations. The thefts took place in Dutchess County in the city of Beacon on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Metro North Train Station. Man Killed, Officer Injured In Head-On Area Crash, Police Say A 49-year-old man was killed and an officer injured during a two-vehicle head-on crash. It happened in Dutchess County shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, in Beacon. Derron E. Holmes, of Beacon, was killed in the crash involving a Subaru Outback and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. According to Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson, of the Beacon Police Department, Holmes was driving the Subaru in the area of Fishkill Avenue in Beacon, when he collided head-on with the Jeep. Woman Killed Crossing Busy Hudson Valley Roadway, Police Say A woman was killed after she was struck by a Jeep Wrangler crossing a busy roadway. The incident took place around 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Dutchess County in the City of Beacon. The woman was crossing Main Street and Teller Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle, said Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson, of the City of Beacon Police. Boater Found Clinging To Side Of Vessel In Hudson River Rescued A man was rescued from the Hudson River after he was heard yelling for help. The incident took place around 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, in Dutchess County. City of Beacon Police officers responded to Red Flynn Drive near the Sloop Club for a man reported to be yelling for help, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson. Officers located a capsized rowboat in the river approximately 20 yards from land with a man clinging to it, Johnson said.
