A 62-year-old Northern Westchester woman faces charges after a dog bite led to officers discovering her pet was unlicensed and unvaccinated, police said. Yorktown resident Patricia Sauber, age 62, was served a criminal summons for failing to license and vaccinate her dog on Tuesday, May 23, according to the Yorktown Police Department. A mother and her toddler are recovering after being bitten by a neighbor's dog in Westchester County. The incident took place in Yonkers around midnight on Monday, June 20. The case of the missing owner of a wandering pig has been solved. The owners of a pig found wandering the streets in Nanuet have been found, according to the Clarkstown Police. The owners were visiting from out of town and the pig had gotten loose, said Clarkstown Officer Norman Peters. A 431-pound bear was euthanized after entering a home in Connecticut, confronting the homeowner and then ransacking the kitchen and dining room. A dog was left alone panting in a heated car, without water, in Yorktown prompting police intervention to help rescue him. Mallard, 10 Ducklings Rescued From Hudson Valley Shopping Center
Oh, quack. A mallard duck and her 10 little ducklings almost got squished Wednesday when they took refuge under a car in the parking lot of a local shopping center. But no worries, the Ramapo Police Department, along with the city's animal control officer, and a couple Good Samaritans quickly came to the rescue and were able, with quite a bit of effort, to rescue all the ducks. Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center’s Board of Directors are going to battle with Spring Valley officials after they failed to pass a resolution that would include their share of costs related to animal control.
