A 64-year-old Rockland County man is facing an assault charge after an altercation turned physical, requiring law enforcement intervention, according to Stony Point police.
Officers from the Stony Point Police Department were dispatched to Knights Corner late on Sunday, March 18, where there was a report of a fight involving two men.
Upon arrival, police said that officers spoke to the victim, who had suffered injuries to his head and mouth as a result of the altercation involving Stony Point resident German Santiago, who allegedly struck the victim several times in the head.
Following a brief investigation, Santiago was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Following arraignment, Santiago was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Stony Point Justice Court on April 10 to answer the charge.
