Michael Coskey, 21 and the unnamed 16-year-old female were arrested after police responded to a residence in Stony Point after receiving a report that a male was touching a female, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.

Once on scene, investigators determined that a physical fight had taken place between the two with Coskey hitting the female with his fists and a pipe and was threatening to hit her with a hatchet, Hylas said.

Coskey then threw the girl to the ground and pressed his knee on her neck obstructing her breathing. During the course of the fight, the girl struck Coskey in the back with an unknown object causing a severe cut requiring stitches, he added.

Both were treated at the hospital for injuries.

Coskey was charged with two counts of assault, three counts of menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing, two counts of criminal mischief, three counts possession of a weapon, disorderly conduct, and harassment. He is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $30,000 bail.

The girl was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and released.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 20.
