Police had earlier reported that they were looking for a man who spoke to the children attending a party Sunday afternoon on Mapleshade Avenue.
He had asked them about the location of a lemonade stand, but drove away when an adult approached, police said.
The man turned out to be an employee at a local store where the children had advertised the lemonade stand, police said.
The children’s parents had planned a stand, but cancelled at the last minute, police said Monday.
The man was identified by a customer at the store where he worked and cooperated with police, they said.
After interviewing him, police said they determined that the entire incident was a “misunderstanding” and non-criminal in nature.
There was “no threat” to the community, police said.
