ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Lanes of the Palisades Parkway near Stony Point were closed both north and southbound for several hours following a fatal motor-vehicle crash around 10:30 a.m. Friday, according to the New York State Police.
An accident reconstruction unit was called to the scene, as well as the Rockland County Medical Examiner's Office, said Trooper Melissa McMorris.
The fatality occurred during heavy rainfall and around the same time as the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the region.
