Chicken crust pizza for one. Chili for another.

And you can find it all at Rock's Kitchen, a Facebook page he started six years ago to help him cope with his weight loss journey and foray into healthier cooking. He now has upwards of 26,000 followers.

The popularity of the page, he says,  is due to his honesty, as well as his do-able recipe suggestions.

At his highest, Alexander weighed 363 pounds, and one point, felt ready to die. A longtime dieter who had tried every plan out there, he grew increasingly frustrated as nothing stuck. All of which got harder as he got older, leading to serious health issues including Type II diabetes and borderline high blood pressure.

"A funny thing happens when your doctor tells you you'll likely die because of being severely overweight," said the father of two. "All of a sudden you want to live."

The owner/operator of a mobile DJ company called Push Entertainment and a deacon at Fairmont Baptist Church, Alexander is now 220 pounds and living a healthy life, thanks in part to bariatric surgery, which he had two and half years ago.

A longtime cook, he started the Facebook page as a virtual support group for those, like him, who have undergone surgery and are looking to change their ways.

Because he likes cooking, he mixed it up with various recipes, attracting an even larger following.

He now travels across the country talking about his journey. He was recently in Anderson S.C. and Saginaw, MI.

With the launch of FB live, he has moved his focus to live cooking demonstrations to help members see how they too can make meals quick and simple.

The mission, he stressed, still remains the same. "Remove the stigma or negativity of weight loss surgery. Education is the key."
