Four Charged In Connection With Murder In Newburgh
Four men from Poughkeepsie were arraigned Wednesday on felony charges in connection with a fatal shooting in Newburgh.
Steven Williams, 29, and Donnell Johnson, 24, were charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence; possession of a revolver, and a host of other charges.
Tysheed McPhee, 23, and Kyreem Selman, 18, were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and other charges, said the Orange County District Attorney's Ofice.

Frank Skartados, longtime Assemblyman for the 104th District in the Hudson Valley, died Sunday morning at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh just weeks after being hospitalized with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
He was 62.
The 104th district includes both the City of Newburgh and the Town of Newburgh; as well as the City of Beacon, the City of Poughkeepsie, the Hamlet of Marlboro, and the Town of Lloyd.

Newburgh Man Sentenced For Beating Victim With Chain, Padlock
A Newburgh man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for seriously injuring a man with a chain and padlock, fracturing the victim’s skull, according to the Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
Carlos Melendez, 29, was also sentenced by Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown to five years post-release supervision and one and one-third to four years for attempted to assault a second victim, the DA's office said.
