An area woman choked her ten-year-old daughter, causing the child to fall to the ground, then slammed the child's head into the ground "multiple times," according to police.
Ulster County resident Sarah J. Silinovich of Saugerties, 42, was reportedly charged with the violation of second-degree harassment and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child after the incident, which police responded to on Monday, Aug. 31 at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Three Killed In Crash Between Tractor-Trailer, Two Cars On I-87 In Area
Three people were killed in a crash involving three vehicles on a stretch of the New York State Thruway in the Hudson Valley.
The crash, involving a tractor-trailer and two cars, happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 in Ulster County near Exit 19 on the southbound side of I-87 in the town of Ulster.
An investigation at the scene revealed that Luc Leblanc, 61, of Sala derry-de-val, Quebec, was operating a 2010 Volvo tractor-trailer, in the right lane when he encountered traffic stopped in front of him at mile marker 88.3, state police said.

Man Arrested For Beating Mother, Causing Serious Injuries, State Police Say
A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother causing serious injuries.
Ulster County resident Paul Morris, 31, of Esopus, was arrested on Monday, March 16, by New York State Police after troopers responded to a home in Esopus for a reported 911 hang up all, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
When troopers arrived at the home they found 62-year-old Beverly Friedman with injuries to her face, said Nevel.
While at the home, troopers interviewed Morris who said that his mother suffered from numerous illnesses and was multiple medications that caused her to pass out, Nevel said.
