No swimming is allowed at the following locations:

  • Mamaroneck: Harbor Island Park, Beach Point Club, Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club, Shore Acres and Orienta Club
  • New Rochelle: Hudson Park, Echo Bay Club, Davenport Club, Greentree Club
  • Rye: Coveleigh Club

Heavy rainfall in the watershed of the Mamaroneck River and in New Rochelle’s Echo Bay affect the quality of water at Westchester’s Sound-Shore beaches, the Westchester County Health Department said on its website.

The health department closes beaches for one day whenever at least half an inch of rain falls within 24 hours, the county website says.  If it rains more than an inch, beaches remain closed for two days.  The county will determine when to reopen in the event of rainfall of more than two inches.
